Dubai Airports Kick Starter Invitation and RSVP

Dubai Airports opened its year with Kick Starter, an afternoon for its staff at the Museum of the Future in Dubai. On a Tuesday in January the invited colleagues met on the museum’s seventh floor for lunch and a programme about reconnecting, refocusing and setting the direction for the months ahead.

Every invitation was personal and could not be passed on, so the guest list had to hold from the first email to the door. ECHT ME developed the RSVP microsite and the series of emails around it in the look of the event, with the museum’s calligraphy façade and the Dubai Airports typeface: a save the date, the invitation with a reminder, a confirmation and the event details.

The invitation carried a personal link that opened the microsite with the guest’s email address already filled in. Guests chose to attend or to decline and, when attending, gave their dietary requirements or allergies for the lunch. Only addresses on the guest list were accepted; any other was told that the email was not registered. A yes was answered with the confirmation email and, closer to the day, with the timings, the way to the venue, the parking options and a reminder to bring the airport pass.

All answers were stored against the guest list, which gave the organisers one record of who had replied, who was coming and what the kitchen had to prepare. After the deadline at the end of December the page changed to a closed notice with a contact address for late replies.
