overview

Emirates, the official airline of the US Open in New York, created an interactive fan experience at its stand on the tournament grounds. Visitors could win an Emirates seat cushion to take to the match and compete for a Dubai getaway for two with Emirates Vacations.

ECHT ME designed and developed three connected applications for the activation: an iPad registration experience, a serve game and the main “Ace the Adventure” game running on Windows touchscreens. All three shared a central database, supported by a dashboard for the Emirates team to monitor registrations and gameplay throughout the tournament.

After registering, visitors received a personal code that unlocked the games. A successful serve could win an Emirates cushion, while other players progressed to “Ace the Adventure”, a 60-second, whack-a-mole-style touchscreen game featuring Dubai landmarks and experiences. Players had to quickly tap US Open trophies as they appeared across the scenes to collect points.

Daily scores were ranked on a Top 10 leaderboard, turning the stand into a competitive Dubai-themed experience for US Open fans.
